Work with galleries: consignments and loans

Track work placed with galleries, commissions, and loans.

Updated July 23, 2026

When your work lives with a gallery or is out on loan, ManageCanvas keeps track of where each piece is, who can sell it, and what you're owed. (Consignments and loans are part of the Studio plan.)

Consign to a gallery

Under Business → Consignments & loans, invite a gallery. They get a simple account to see the work you've placed with them, agree to a commission, and even sell on your behalf.

Agreements and commission

Each consignment records the agreed commission and terms. You can allow a gallery to accept an offer below your listed price within limits you approve, so deals don't stall.

Sell through the gallery

A gallery can complete a sale — including a quick scan-to-buy at the counter — and the piece is marked sold, the edition decremented, and the certificate handled, just like your own sales. Commission is tracked for you.

Loans

For work that's on display but not for sale, record a loan instead — to a gallery or any venue. You can even set a piece to "sell now, deliver after it returns," holding its certificate until the loan ends.

Find my work

Collectors can see where your work is currently on view via your public "Find my work" page.
