Issue and deliver certificates of authenticity

How ManageCanvas certificates work, how to download them, and how buyers verify them.

Updated July 23, 2026

A certificate of authenticity (CoA) is your signed attestation that a piece is genuine and part of a specific edition. On ManageCanvas, certificates are issued automatically, are permanent, and are independently verifiable.

How certificates get issued

When you create an edition, ManageCanvas issues a certificate for every item in that edition — one per numbered print, or one for an original. For open editions, a certificate is issued each time you add another item.

Each certificate carries the artwork image, the edition label, a certificate number, the issue date, your signature, and a QR code linking to its public verification page.

Add your signature

Under Appearance → Brand (or in Settings), upload a signature image. It's placed on every certificate above the signature line.

Download certificates

  • Download a single certificate as a PDF from its item row.
  • Use Download all to get a ZIP of every certificate in an edition.

How buyers verify

Every certificate has a QR code and a link to verify.managecanvas.com. Anyone can scan it to confirm the piece is Authentic, see its edition and certificate number, and view your branding — even years later.

Certificates are permanent

Once a certificate is delivered to a buyer it becomes a permanent public record — it stays verifiable even if you later change your catalog. And closing an artwork's catalog is irreversible: that's the completeness guarantee collectors rely on, so we won't reopen a closed catalog, even on request.
